Thats all folks… for now.

Our 2023-2024 season concluded on Thursday 4th, April with the final film of this season, Nostalgia.

The Chester Film Society Committee would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who bought a membership for this season and to everyone who bought a ticket at the door. It’s no mean feat to fill a cinema nowadays, especially with films that have perhaps not received the attention they were due. All of the audience scores and comments for each of the films that made up the 2023-2024 season can be found on the programme tab

We would also like to say THANK YOU to Jo Crotty, who stepped down as chair of the CFS Committee at the end of this season to move on to pastures and new locations. Jo has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the CFS continues to serve the film-loving citizens of Chester so well and in the continued success of the Chester International Film Festival, which this year was the best yet.

Thanks are also due to Vain Chester for sponsoring our drinks receptions and goody bags and to StoryHouse for giving us a home for the last few years. Storyhouse will continue to be the home of the Chester International Film Festival in 2025.

As you know, changes are afoot in terms of the membership model, and we are pleased to announce that we will be moving to a new location for the 2024/2025 season – PictureHouse Chester. We hope to be in touch soon with everything we have planned for later in the year.

‘I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring,’
