Our 2025-26 Season is split into two parts!<\/strong>
The first half <\/strong> – Autumn\/Winter<\/strong> – of our brand-new film programme started on Thursday 18th September, curated with care to bring you the very best in world cinema, with standout films from Brazil, France, Belgium, Denmark, and India.
The second half<\/strong> – Winter\/Spring<\/strong> – started on Thursday 8th January has been expanded to include seven films<\/em><\/strong> journeying through Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Palestine, and the USA, exploring themes of resistance, connection, identity, and reinvention. From historical dramas\u00a0to thrilling tales and tributes to cinema itself, each screening is hand-picked to offer something unique and thought-provoking.

Memberships are now closed<\/strong>
We’ve now closed Memberships for this season, but don’t worry – we’ll be opening them up again this August in time for the 2026-27 season! We’ll be keeping the cost to just\u00a0\u00a310 for the whole season, giving you access to all the films at the special member price of only\u00a0\u00a35 per screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can easily join by going to ourMembership page<\/strong> <\/a>and following the instructions there.
NB Memberships are now closed for the current season<\/em><\/strong>

Please also note that current (2025-26) memberships will expire on 31st August 2026. Current members will be reminded to renew memberships around that time and we will also be accepting new memberships.

Membership and ticketing<\/b>
A Film Society membership will only cost \u00a310 for the whole season!<\/b> This allows our members to buy tickets for each film directly from Picturehouse at an exclusive cost of just \u00a35<\/b> a time.<\/strong> Non-members are still welcome, but they would have to buy tickets at the full standard Picturehouse price (currently \u00a310 plus any online booking fee). Our arrangement with Picturehouse means that they cover all the venue and film licensing costs and take all ticket revenue. 
We administer memberships using an online platform called Membermojo. <\/strong>Memberships for joining or renewal are now open!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programming our films<\/strong>
We split the season into two parts which allows us to take advantage of obtaining more recent films from World Cinema, which is the focus of our programme. Part 1 covers September to December and Part 2 covers January to April.
We have a Film Programming Group of film society members who meet to discuss and agree on our final shortlist of films. These are then submitted to Picturehouse’s Senior Film Programmer who obtains  the necessary screening licenses.
